Hi all, so I have a new macbok pro with an m1 processor so I needed to reinstall photoshop. Yesterday I installed adobe cc on a 7 day free trial and used the method described here to get photoshop 2021:
(I tried and failed several different methods and can't remember for definite which method worked for me, I'm 99% sure it was the above one though)
But then I noticed an app installed on my computer called cai-helper. I can't open it or anything. So I was googling it to try and figure out what it was and came across this
It's a content authenticity tool, from what I gather it's to stop fake images from circulating but I just want to check that that's right? Cos my initial assumption was that this is tool to prevent people who acquiring photoshop "illegally".
My question is is this app going to be a problem? Any help is appreciated

Приветствую друзья! Сегодня тема — процесс/программа helper.exe, моя задача — предоставить вам максимально подробную инфу о процессе простыми словами. Обещаю — грузить не буду
helper.exe — что это такое?
helper.exe — процесс, который может принадлежать разному софт, так как название очень общее. Само слово helper.exe означает помощь, точнее даже помощник.
В каких случаях процесс может висеть в диспетчере? Например:
- Была запущена справка в какой-то программе.
- Запущен помощник. Например по настройке проги, по подсказкам как пользоваться программой.
- К сожалению helper.exe может являться и вирусом. Особенно если в диспетчере кушает ресурсы ПК — грузит процессор, много использует оперативы. Тогда нужно проверить комп антивирусными утилитами (далее скажу какими).
helper.exe — от какой проги может быть?
Пример софта, к которому может иметь отношение процесс helper.exe:
- Например в папке браузера Firefox внутри может быть папка uninstall, а внутри файл helper.exe и предположительно он нужен для ассоциаций, а может и для удаления Firefox. Поэтому точно определить к какой проге имеет отношение helper.exe — невозможно. Оказалось что и к почтовой проге Thunderbird также может иметь отношение.
- Другой вариант — в папке торрент-качалки uTorrent также может быть helper.exe в папке helper. Возможно сейчас его уже нет, но был в версии uTorrent 3.5.5. Здесь helper.exe может коннектится в сеть, один юзер ему запретил выход в сеть при помощи фаервола, так после этого процесс оставался висеть в оперативке. Кстати писали об этом на форуме — мол этот процесс в uTorrent представляет из себя майнер (крипто-вирус), правда или нет — неизвестно..
- Информации не находил, но helper.exe спокойно может встречаться в софте Adobe. Да и вообще в крупном софте, например в том же Офисе..
Один пользователь написал — иногда жесткий диск компа начинает шуршать сильно. В процессах наиболее активен helper.exe. Вывод — вирус реально может маскироваться под данный процесс, поэтому проверка антивирусными утилитами — очень желательна.
Также helper.exe может быть в проге Mozilla Thunderbird — клиент от Мозиллы по работе с почтой. Располагается обычно здесь:
В одном из самых браузеров — Palemoon также может быть файл helper.exe, размещается как правило здесь:
Один человек скачал ПО After Effects, после установки — антивирус удаляет какой-то helper.exe.. видимо тот, который на самом деле является активатором After Effects. Поэтому и удаляет — активаторы часто содержат вирусный код, уже молчу о том что это вообще незаконно…
У некоторых юзеров поведение helper.exe и правда странное, вызывает подозрение на вирус..
Бывает что файл располагается по такому пути:
Расположение странное — папка Roaming особо любима всякими вирусами и зловредами. Кстати по поводу этой папки — нашел на форумах упоминание, что если файл находится именно здесь, то это скорее всего вирус
План действий — мои рекомендации
Информации в интернете толковой очень мало. Я дам свои советы что вам делать, так как считаю что с ситуацией нужно разобраться
Рекомендую такой план действий:
- Вручную проверить откуда запускается процесс helper.exe — посмотреть название папки, по которому постараться найти инфу в интернетах.
- Проверить антивирусными утилитами. Я дам три утилиты, которые лучшие, проверить нужно всеми тремя — так как они находят разные вирусы.
- Если вирусов не будет найдено, а процесс висит или даже грузит проц — тогда стоит принудительно отключить, об этом также напишу.
Еще очень советую проанализировать автозагрузку. Используйте для этого AnVir Task Manager — бесплатная утилита, показывает тучу инфы об автозагрузке из реестра, обычной, отображает задания в планировщике и многое другое. Реально годнота.
Откуда запускается процесс? Диспетчер Windows 10 либо Windows 7 позволяет узнать папку запуска процесса. Вот пример — откройте диспетчер, активируйте вкладку с процессами, найдите процесс.. пусть это будет explorer.exe, нажмите по нему правой кнопкой — выберите пункт Открыть расположение файла:
В результате откроется папка, откуда и запускается процесс — у меня открылась системная (файл будет выделен):
Именно оттуда и происходит запуск explorer.exe (кстати это оболочка виндовская, другими словами программа проводник).
Таким образом узнаете откуда идет запуск helper.exe, напомню — обратите внимание на название папки, оно может подсказать от какой проги процесс…
Какими антивирусными утилитами проверить ПК?
Вышеперечисленными утилитами вообще нужно регулярно проверять ПК. Поверьте мне — они реально лучшие и самые эффективные. ПК не грузят, работают относительно быстро, особенно AdwCleaner и HitmanPro.
Как принудительно отключить процесс? Почти безопасно, однако перед — все таки посоветую вам создать точку восстановления, мало ли.
На Android появился неудаляемый троян xHelper. Что с ним делать
Несмотря на то что в понимании большинство пользователей вирус и троян – это одно и то же, на самом деле между ними огромная разница. Троян, в отличие от вирусов, которые действуют в автоматическом режиме, практически не имеет шансов попасть на устройство жертвы без активных действий с её стороны. Поэтому злоумышленники обычно их встраивают в добросовестные, на первый взгляд, программы, чтобы отвлечь внимание пользователей. Получается, что если троян попал на ваше устройство, виноваты в этом именно вы. Другое дело, что иногда заразить свой гаджет трояном бывает куда проще, чем от него избавиться.

А, попав на устройство жертвы, интегрируется в систему и начинает демонстрировать рекламные баннеры в Пункте уведомлений.
Что делает xHelper
К счастью, сообщают эксперты, xHelper, в отличие от большинства аналогов, не собирает конфиденциальных данных своих жертв и не ворует их сбережений. Тем не менее, вездесущие объявления, которые троян встраивает в системные элементы, могут раздражать, пожалуй, не меньше, чем лаги или преждевременная разрядка, которые провоцируют программы-майнеры. Тем не менее, обычно adware – вредоносные приложения, встраивающие рекламу в интерфейс операционной системы, — довольно легко удаляются с инфицированных устройств. Но не xHelper.
Оказывается, из-за хитрого механизма установки xHelper нельзя удалить с устройства штатными средствами. Другое дело, что никаких доказательств того, что они удаляют не только троян, но и его установочный файл, который провоцирует переустановку даже после отката до заводских настроек, у нас нет. Поэтому мы бы не решились рекомендовать вам какой-либо конкретный антивирус, тем более тот, за который придётся платить, оставляя окончательное решение о выборе исключительно на ваше усмотрение.

Со своей стороны можем порекомендовать воспользоваться бесплатным приложением Internet App Blocker (скачать), которое доступно для загрузки в Google Play. Оно позволяет заблокировать соединение любой программы с интернетом, а значит, с его помощью можно фактически запретить работу xHelper, который больше не сможет демонстрировать рекламу. Учитывая, что троян не ворует ваших данных, и это доказанный факт, использование Internet App Blocker может оказаться наиболее эффективным решением, по крайней мере к настоящему моменту, когда более действенных средств борьбы с трояном не существует.

What is Content Credentials (Beta)?
Updated in the October 2022 release
Content Credentials (Beta) is a developing feature in Adobe Photoshop for creators to add their attribution details to their exported images. When enabled, Content Credentials gathers details such as edits, activity, and producer name then binds the information to the image as tamper-evident attribution and history data (called Content Credentials ) when creators export their final content.
This feature aligns with the C2PA standard to provide digital provenance across the internet (beyond just Adobe products). It creates an open format for sharing information about the producer’s identity and the ingredients and tools used to make the content. These ultimately provide useful attribution information for audiences once the producer shares or publishes the image.
Content Credentials (Beta) is part of a growing ecosystem of technologies available through the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI). Adobe and our 800+ CAI members are dedicated to restoring trust online by creating a standard way to share visual content without losing key contextual details such as who made it, when, and how. Alongside the CAI, Adobe also co-founded a standards development organization, the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) , to develop an open, global standard for sharing this information across platforms and sites.
Content Credentials (Beta) is currently available in English, German, French, and Japanese.
Why use Content Credentials (Beta)?
The Content Credentials (Beta) feature in Photoshop is part of a broader project called the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI). CAI is an Adobe-led community of creators, technologists, journalists, activists, and educators — focused on addressing digital misinformation through an open, extensible approach for capturing, editing, and publishing content with provenance and attribution.
When to use Content Credentials (Beta)
The Content Credentials (Beta) feature is most useful for creators when they want to track attribution and provide a layer of transparency for their audience. The feature can be used by casual and professional artists alike to provide a layer of trust for some of the following purposes:
- Creator attribution — Creators can use Content Credentials (Beta) to capture their editing process and add edits and attribution to their work to share with their viewers. This feature also ensures that they receive credit for their content as it is published and shared.
- Photojournalism — Photographers can capture editing details, image history, and attribution to share with their audiences. Check out our case study that demonstrates the end-to-end system of Content Credentials (Beta) .
- NFTs — Buyers and sellers of non-fungible token (NFT) artwork can use Content Credentials (Beta) to see the history and attribution of a piece of artwork before it enters the blockchain.
How to use Content Credentials (Beta) on Photoshop
Enable and Opt-in to Content Credentials (Beta)
To enable Content Credentials for your document, go to Window > Content Credentials (Beta) and click the Enable Content Credentials . Once enabled, the panel should refresh to display attribution settings. Likewise, you can right-click on any open document tab and select Enable Content Credentials .
You can also enable the feature for all new documents or for documents with existing Content Credentials by going to Preferences > History & Content Credentials > Content Credentials (Beta) Document Settings . We recommend selecting Enable for new and saved documents with Content Credentials to ensure all your edits and activities are captured to provide the most accurate history of how your image came to be.
Content Credentials (Beta) attaches content credentials to an image only if a user explicitly enables the feature and chooses to attach them upon export.
To adjust your Content Credentials (Beta) settings, go to Window > Content Credentials (Beta) . You should be able to view this icon on your panels bar. This panel allows you to select what information about your content you would like to be attached to your content.
Preview your work’s Content Credentials (Beta)
Either use the Content Credentials (Beta) icon in the panels bar or go to Window > Content Credentials (Beta) and select Preview . You will see the following options:
- Produced by: the chosen name of the person or entity who exported the content.
- Produced with: the editing application used to produce this work.
- Edits and activity: the actions taken on the content by the producer.
- Signed by: the organization that claims the content credentials.
- Signed on: the date the content is signed by the signer.
Export work with attached Content Credentials (Beta)
When your document is enabled with Content Credentials, go to Export As to see your export settings. In the Content Credentials (Beta) section, you can select Publish to Content Credentials cloud or Attach to file (JPG & PNG) to include Content Credentials with your images. Choosing None will not include Content Credentials with your exported image.
You can also select Preview to view how the Content Credentials will appear to others. When you’re ready, export your content as a JPEG or PNG. Your final image is good to go, with content credentials added.
To update the export default settings, go to Preferences > History & Content Credentials > Content Credentials (Beta) Export As Options . We recommend selecting Publish to Content Credentials cloud to ensure your data is always protected, even if it gets separated from your image.
What is Content Credentials cloud?
Adobe’s Content Credentials cloud is a public, persistent storage for your attribution and history data. Publishing to this cloud will help keep your files smaller and make your Content Credentials more resilient. If the Content Credentials ever get stripped from your image, those stored in the cloud can be recovered through a search.
Users who prefer to store their Content Credentials within the file can set that in Preferences or in the Export dialog.
View your Content Credentials on Verify
Choose your image to inspect your Content Credentials on the online Verify viewer. This viewer can be used to check any image for its Content Credentials, see the overview of ingredients that made the image, and compare versions to understand the changes made to the image over time.
Behance supports Content Credentials
Behance, the leading online platform to showcase and discover creative work, supports Content Credentials (Beta) in the single image viewer, where creators can display the content credentials with their work.
Supported File Types
Content Credentials (Beta) only supports exporting JPG and PNG files during this beta.
Content Credentials known issues
Content Credentials (Beta) is still in development, so the following features in Photoshop aren’t fully supported yet:
3rd Party Plugins and Scripts
No current workaround available. You will receive a disclaimer on your Content Credentials noting that unsupported actions were used.
Multi-device and multi-user flow for non-PSD & PSDCs.
Convert your file to a PSD or PSDC or complete Content Credentials work on the same device with the same user account.
Images created with pre 1.0 C2PA compliant versions of Content Credentials
Use images created with Content Credentials from April 2022 (or more recently). Older images with Content Credentials are supported on a legacy Verify site.
Offline exports are not supported
No current workaround available. Users should connect to the internet before exporting
Exporting layers and artboards
Export as a document rather than layers or artboards
Co-editing and collaboration
Only one name is currently supported in Content Credentials (Beta). Ensure the user who exports the image is the one whose name and other attribution information is intended to be sealed in the Content Credentials
Extremely large files
If facing issues with PNGs, try to use them as JPEGs. If you receive the following message, it is likely that the file is too large to attach a Content Credential. Additional performance improvements for working with large files are underway.
Mac users unable to open use Content Credentials for use after loading
There will be a pop-up upon the first load of Photoshop that asks if "cai-helper" can access the documents folder.
If you did not select OK, then you will have to navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Files and Folders > cai-helper and allow access to the folder by checking the items listed below cai-helper.
Language support beyond English, German, French and Japanese
No current workaround. Content Credentials will default to English if Photoshop is set to an unsupported language.
Education plan users can’t access
While in Beta, Education plan users are unable to access the feature. We are planning for Education plan users to have Content Credentials access when the feature generally becomes available.
Enterprise plan users can’t access
Enterprises currently must be added to an access list to use Content Credentials. For Enterprise users who don’t have access, ask your admin to request.
Are your content credentials missing from published content?
Many digital applications and tools erase image metadata when the image is loaded or published, including information related to Content Credentials (Beta). If you find your image’s content credentials are missing after publishing online, it’s likely because that application doesn’t yet support Content Credentials (Beta).
If you used Content Credentials cloud when exporting your image, you can re-connect the content credentials on Verify.

После покупки своего первого компьютера Apple я был просто в восторге от CleanMyMac. Красивое визуальное оформление, дружелюбный интерфейс, очистка за несколько секунд.
При переходе с Windows я банально не знал, как вручную чистить macOS (тогда еще OS X), чтобы не удалить чего-то нужного и решил прибегнуть к помощи одной из самых популярных программ для Mac.
Купил лицензию на CleanMyMac 2 и около года регулярно проводил очистку, поражаясь счетчику очищенного приложением пространства.
Со временем я понял, что это лишь механизм по выкачиванию денег с ленивых пользователей.
Разработчики CleanMyMac давно исчерпали себя
После выхода третьей версии создатели любезно предложили заплатить. Обладателям лицензии, разумеется, предложили скидку, но платить немалую сумму, которая сопоставима с ценой среднестатистического приложения не хотелось.
Некоторое время продолжал пользоваться старой версией программы, а при переезде на новый компьютер немного посидел на взломанной пиратке CleanMyMac 3.
Я просто не увидел реальных отличий. За что нужно заново платить разработчикам?
Пару незначительных мелочей и мифическое увеличение скорости работы того не стоили.
В 2018 году ситуация повторилась. Разработчики опять захотели денег и выкатили платный апдейт CleanMyMac X.
Да, они перерисовали дизайн программы, добавили множество визуальных эффектов и анимаций, но, разве это главное в программе для очистки мусора?
Сейчас купить CleanMyMac X можно за $89.95! Для тех, кто не желает сразу расставаться с такой суммой, предлагают ежегодную подписку в размере $39.95.
В любом случае через 2-3 года выйдет платное обновление и первых попросят оплатить 40-50% стоимости, а вторые уже и так переплатят за этот апдейт.
Если ситуация уже повторялась дважды, она обязательно повторится и в третий раз.
При этом реально новых нужных каждому фишек в программе не появляется уже несколько лет.
Неудивительно, что те же разработчики придумали SetApp
Осознавая ситуацию, разработчики придумали еще один канал сбыта своей программы – сервис SetApp.
Идея предоставлять пользователю набор программ по подписке просто отличная, но на практике заручиться поддержкой серьезных разработчиков так и не удалось.
В SetApp с трудом удастся найти 5-7 действительно нужных программ для Mac.
А если и найдете, то покупка лицензии на каждую программу обойдется дешевле подписки на сервис за полтора-два года.
Большинство приложений в SetApp – будто ширма для продвижения CleanMyMac.
Да, есть там и нужные программы, но некоторые из них с легкостью заменяются бесплатными или более дешевыми аналогами.
Чаще всего CleanMyMac создает видимость работы
Если хотите увидеть реальную пользу от CleanMyMac – очищайте вручную корзину перед запуском приложения.
Тогда результаты чистки перестанут исчисляться десятками ГБ и будут выглядеть намного скромнее.
У многих пользователей больше всего мусора для CleanMyMac оставляет браузер и используемые мессенджеры.
Вручную очистить кэш для двух-трех приложений быстрее, чем ждать очистку от CleanMyMac.
Месяц не проводил очистку системы, а перед запуском программы почистил корзину, кэш Safari, Telegram и Skype. В итоге чудо-утилита смогла освободить мне смешные 133 Мб.
Такими темпами за год CleanMyMac почистит не более пары гигабайт.
Стоит ли ради этого платить $39.95 в год или покупать лицензию за $89.95?
CleanMyMac вполне может сломать другой софт или macOS
Подобные приложения работают достаточно просто. Разработчики закладывают в алгоритм работы удаление папок с кэшем и временными данными для всех распространенных приложений.
CleanMyMac проверяет эти папки и удаляет все, что разработчики считают ненужным.
После очередного апдейта программа может начать хранить кэш в другой папке или называть сами файлы по-другому. Пока разработчики CleanMyMac не выпустят обновление, утилита не найдет новый мусор.
Это вам не Windows, где подобные «клинеры» могут сделать снимок системного реестра и потом четко понять где наследило то или иное приложение.
Если какая-нибудь программа глубоко интегрируется в macOS, удаление хвостов за ней может негативно сказаться на работоспособности компьютера.
Тут или устраивать агрессивную чистку с риском для ОС, либо сознательно оставлять хвосты и мусор, чтобы не навредить.
В практике использования CleanMyMac были как первые, так и вторые случаи.
Стороннее приложение после этого можно переустановить, а сломанные системные программы лечатся только переустановкой macOS.
Пиратская версия CleanMyMac работает еще хуже
Жадные любители CleanMyMac снижают и без того сомнительную эффективность утилиты.
Взломанные версии не обновляются, а в обновлениях содержатся данные об изменившемся расположении кэша или ненужных файлов для разных программ.
Можно произвести чистку, которая будет актуальна на момент выхода взломанной версии, но через месяц-другой часть системного мусора изменит свое расположение и не будет очищаться программой.
Хотите полную очистку, ищите новую взломанную версию.
Как же тогда чистить Mac без CleanMyMac?
Здесь могла бы быть реклама другого приложения для очистки Mac – но её тут нет!
Лучше всего удалять мусор на Mac вручную. Ни один алгоритм, написанный для большого числа пользователей, не окажется лучше ручной чистки в каждом конкретном случае.
Большинство приложений сами отлично справляются с очисткой кэша, нужно только отыскать такую опцию в настройках.
Любителям автоматического удаления программ могу посоветовать бесплатный AppCleaner.
А еще лучше удалять программу средствами системы и проверять папку /Library/Application Support на наличие хвостов и зависимостей.
Очистку папки с загрузками легко автоматизировать.
Чтобы наглядно видеть занятое место на Mac рекомендую программу DaisyDisk. Купил приложение почти одновременно с CleanMyMac, с того времени DaisyDisk стабильно обновляется и ни разу не просило денег.
Лучший инструмент для ручной чистки системы. Он не будет водить по местам с мелкими файлами, которые занимают несколько мегабайт.
Вместо этого программа сразу же покажет, что много места занимает давно скачанный и просмотренный фильм в 4К, старые бэкапы iPhone в iTunes или исходники давно завершенного проекта.
Одна вдумчивая очистка Mac таким способом раз в полгода освободит гораздо больше места, чем CleanMyMac за несколько лет работы.

Hi all, so I have a new macbok pro with an m1 processor so I needed to reinstall photoshop. Yesterday I installed adobe cc on a 7 day free trial and used the method described here to get photoshop 2021:
(I tried and failed several different methods and can't remember for definite which method worked for me, I'm 99% sure it was the above one though)
But then I noticed an app installed on my computer called cai-helper. I can't open it or anything. So I was googling it to try and figure out what it was and came across this
It's a content authenticity tool, from what I gather it's to stop fake images from circulating but I just want to check that that's right? Cos my initial assumption was that this is tool to prevent people who acquiring photoshop "illegally".
My question is is this app going to be a problem? Any help is appreciated
